Husqvarna Automower 310E NERA for Wi-Fi and Automower Connect guidance

Wi-Fi, Cellular and Bluetooth on Husqvarna Automower: What You Actually Need

Robot mower connectivity gets confusing quickly because current Automower models use different combinations of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and mobile connectivity. The important question is not which technology sounds best; it is what the mower needs to stay connected and, on some wire-free setups, to keep receiving positioning correction data around your particular garden.

Bluetooth

Bluetooth is short range and is mainly useful for local communication with the mower when you are nearby. It is not a substitute for full remote connectivity across a large property.

Wi-Fi-only models

Current Wi-Fi-only Husqvarna models include Automower 305E NERA, 310E NERA, 308V and 312V, along with some other models in the range. These machines can use your home Wi-Fi to communicate with Husqvarna Cloud and the Automower Connect app.

If a Wi-Fi-only mower is using EPOS via Husqvarna Cloud, reliable Wi-Fi coverage is required across the full working area because the mower receives its correction data through that connection. Husqvarna also offers a dealer-installed Automower Connect Kit for compatible models to add mobile connectivity.

Wi-Fi plus mobile connectivity

Models such as 405VE NERA, 410VE NERA, 430V NERA and 450V NERA can use both Wi-Fi and the mobile network. If Wi-Fi drops out, mobile connectivity can maintain the cloud connection where mobile coverage is available.

What if you use a local EPOS reference station?

With a local reference station, Wi-Fi is not required for the mower's positioning and navigation itself. Wi-Fi can still be useful for remote app control and other connected features when the mower is within network range.

Why this matters when choosing a model

Two mowers may look similar on paper but have different connectivity arrangements. A Wi-Fi-only model can be an excellent choice for a normal residential garden with strong outdoor coverage, while a Wi-Fi + mobile model may suit a larger or more spread-out site more easily.

Our simple rule

If you know your Wi-Fi is patchy outside, tell us. If your lawn extends a long way from the house, tell us. If you have separate areas, outbuildings or thick stone walls, tell us.

Those few details can change which model makes the most sense. Use Find Your Mower, compare the range on our Compare Models page, or ask us before you buy.
